Over the weekend I went to Winter Jam and it was a blast! This is my third time going to one of these concerts. For anyone who doesn’t know what it is, it’s a concert full of Christian artists and a Speaker for $10! It’s really a blessed time filled with amazing performances. There were a lot of awesome artists this year, to name a few, For King and Country, Crowder, Matthew West, Sidewalk Prophets, Lauren Daigle, and more! I wanted to share 3 take aways for me of the night that really gave me encouragement…
1. Jesus loves me
And He loves you too! He loves us enough to die on the cross for our sins. How awesome is that? Towards the end of Ryan Nolan’s (the guest speaker) message he had us all on the count of 3 stand up and shout Jesus loves me. There was so much power in that, I teared up a little. I know this, but shouting it was just the best reminder of his love for you, and made me feel so joyful.
2.You’re the best you
During Sidewalk Prophets amazing performance they said “you’re the worst someone else, but you’re the best you.” This really hit home for me. In the world we are living in today with all these message us women get about how we should look, how we should dress, etc. it’s hard to not want to be like someone else. But, God created you just the way you should be, and you are chosen, desired, loved, beautiful, captivating, important, and enough! This message isn’t just for women of course, it is for every single one of us. You’ll never achieve being someone else because that’s not you! Our differences are intentional, own them! You were created to be you, and you are the best you there is.
3. Today is Day One of the rest of your life
Not only is Matthew West a talented singer, but he is also super funny too. His performance was great. One of the songs he sang was called “Day One”
“It’s day one of the rest of my life
It’s day one of the best of my life
I’m marching on to the beat of a brand new drum
Yeah, here I come
The future has begun”
God’s grace and forgiveness is new each day. I found this song to be very encouraging as we are beginning the new year, new resolutions. But, it doesn’t have to be a new year, it can be a new day. You’re never too far, no matter what you’re going through to start over. If you don’t like the way life is going, you can change that! You can make today Day One!
