Looking for a fun wedding reception idea? You’ve come to the right place. I’m here to introduce you to the shoe game! We played it at our wedding. This game seems to be pretty popular lately and I’m loving it. It’s really a cute and silly way to entertain the guests and helps them get to know the couple better. Also, it’s super fun for the newlyweds after all the planning and nerves from the big day.
How to play: After you’ve enjoyed some dinner, place two chairs out on the dance floor back to back. The bride and groom will each sit in one and take off their shoes, and trade one of their shoes with each other. So the bride has one her shoe in one hand and the grooms shoe in the other, and same with him. Then, someone will ask them questions and the bride and groom answer by raising whose shoe best fits the answer to the question (themselves or their new spouse). For example, “Who is better at keeping surprises?” My husband and I both lifted my shoe because he always ends up telling me about his surprise ideas lol.
Typically, it’s best to have the person who will ask the questions be someone who knows the two of you to make it more personable and funny. We had our best man do this, but you can have anyone in the bridal party, and even your DJ if you print out a list of questions for them to ask.
Here is a list of some great questions:
(1) Who is older?
(2) Who is a better dresser?
(3) Who is more adventurous?
(4) Who said ‘I love you’ first?
(5) Who got better grades in school?
(6) Who is a better cook?
(7) Who is a better dancer?
(8) Who is usually first to say sorry?
(9) Who spends more money?
(10) Who will pay the bills?
(11) Who is messier?
(12) Who has better hair?
(13) Whose idea was it to play this game?
(14) Who is more likely to get a traffic ticket?
(15) Who is the best kisser?
(16) Who is better at keeping surprises?
(17) Who is more likely to be running late?
(18) Who will be most likely to wake up grumpy?
(19) Who watches the most TV?
(20) Who do you love more than anyone in the world right now?
Awwwwwwwwwww. Isn’t that last one is just too adorable for words?! If you Google or look on Pinterest you should be able to find even more questions. I recommend using between 10-20 questions because you don’t want it to be too long. You should definitely play this at your reception, it’s fun and easy.
