One of my goals this year is to declutter my house! Do you ever feel like you just have too much stuff? Having too much stuff can make your life feel busy and messy. Every time I want to get rid of things I usually fill a bag or two and give up. Not this time. This time I did the 30 Day Minimalism Game! This game was created by ‘The Minimalists’ and it’s designed to be a fun way to declutter your home and get rid of unneeded/unwanted belongings. My hope from this is to simplify my life, feel more free and have less clutter. You can read all about the game and get free printables HERE.
Basically on day 1 you get rid of 1 item, day 2 you get rid of 2 items and so on. By the end of it you’ll be getting rid of 496 items! Anyone can purge a few items, but as it goes on it gets a little more challenging. As far as items, anything goes! Collectables, decorations, kitchenware, electronics, clothes, and towels are just a few popular items people get rid of. You can donate, sell, or throw away the items. Some items we got rid of were board games, dvds, clothes, old cellphones, expired beauty products, and more!
It definitely got more difficult towards the end, but I am so proud of myself for completing this challenge. I’ve always been inspired by people who live a minimalist lifestyle. I think it will also be easier to clean and keep things organized with less stuff. Bonus: it’s always a good feeling when you set a goal and accomplish it!
I cannot recommend this challenge enough and it’s so crazy that I got rid of 496 things! I shared my journey on my Instagram stories so make sure you check it out!
