Hello hello! If you’re on any social media platforms then I am sure that you’ve seen posts about a juice cleanse before. They seem to be very popular and I have always wanted to try one. Basically you drink cold pressed juice (and water) for 3 days straight for all of your meals. Juicing has a lot of benefits – weight loss, energy levels, lower cholesterol, detoxifies the body, and overall good health. They all sound pretty good to me, so I decided to finally try a juice cleanse. I am pretty excited to share how it went with all of you.
There are a lot of companies that sell kits of juice for your cleanse but they are all pretty pricey, and my husband wanted to do the cleanse with me so we didn’t have $300 dollars to drop for a 3 day juice cleanse for the two of us. Instead we decided to DIY it and made our own juice recipes for about $65 total (not including a juicer that we already had). Look at all the delicious fresh fruit and vegetables we scored!
We stuck with 3 main juice recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We also made juice whenever we felt hungry as a ‘snack” which usually consisted of a mix of fruits of our choice. The fruit juices were my favorite and so delicious. In my opinion, the vegetable ones were a bit more difficult to drink. These recipes served two mason jars with about 12 ounces of juice each. We also made our juice a day in advance so that we would be ready for the day and not have to make it then, juicing is pretty time consuming.

Final Thoughts:
The main reason I wanted to try the juice cleanse is because I wanted to detoxify my body and see if it would improve my energy at all (girlfriend loves her coffee). I definitely think that it detoxifies the body and helps you to transition into a healthier life style, but I didn’t feel a boost in energy. This cleanse was very challenging, and I probably wouldn’t do it again, but I am glad I gave it a shot. I do have to say I would probably do a 1 day juice cleanse in the future, and also incorporate cold pressed juices into my diet more often now.
Thanks for reading! I hope you found this helpful.
