It’s officially March and Spring is so close I can feel it! The days are getting longer, the sun is finally shining, and I am so ready for warmer weather. Everyone loves Spring because it’s a time for fresh starts, pretty blooms, and of course, Spring cleaning. What comes to mind when you hear the words ‘Spring cleaning’? Maybe you think of washing the curtains or organizing the pantry, but, you can also Spring clean other areas of your life! Now is the best time to start working on your Spring to-do list. Here are 8 awesome ways you can Spring clean your life and feel happier.
1.) Declutter your mind
When your mind is cluttered your whole life feels cluttered. Take some time to relax and breathe. Declutter your thoughts by writing in a daily journal or make to-do lists to help you focus and get stuff done. Self care can also be a great way to declutter your mind. Plan some time each week to do something you love like read a book, take a bath, or grab a coffee and go on a Target run. Self care can look different for everyone.
2.) Do a tech detox
I’m not talking about unplugging here, although that’s good too and if it’s something you need then definitely do it. But, I’m talking about cleaning up your tech and social media life. Go through your inbox and unsubscribe to all those newsletters you don’t open. P.S. I found the easiest and best way to unsubscribe to emails all at once, check out Unroll.me and thank me later. After your unsubscribing session, move on to your cellphone. Delete old text messages, back up your photos and make space for new ones. Last, but certainly not least, clean up your social media following. Unfollow accounts that don’t inspire you. What you see online daily has a huge impact on how you feel.
3.) Get rid of physical clutter
As the saying goes, “clean home, clean mind”. One of the most popular things people do in the Spring is get rid of stuff they don’t want anymore. Having too much stuff can make your life feel busy and messy. Go through your belongings and sell, donate, or throw away any unwanted items. 4.) Deep clean all your spaces
Time for the traditional sense of Spring cleaning, literal cleaning! Blast some music and give your home, car, and work space a really good deep clean. This will instantly put you in a better mood and help you feel happier.
5.) Straighten out your finances
Spring is a good time to check in on your finances, your spending habits, and any financial goals you may have. It’s also a great opportunity to refresh (or make) a budget.
6.) Re-evaluate your goals
Around this time is when people tend to give up or forget about the ambitions they set. Take some time and re-evaluate the goals you set for yourself in the new year. See what’s working and what’s not and make any changes you need to in order to crush those goals. Maybe even make some new ones?!
7.) Tackle your wardrobe
Go through your clothes and get rid of anything that doesn’t fit, you don’t like, or you haven’t worn in a while. After you do that, then organize your closet and make it easier to find outfits. This is also a great time to switch up your style and make your wardrobe something you love.
8.) Refresh your home
If you’re like me, you’re constantly changing your home décor. Spring is the perfect time to switch things up. Add some new throw pillows, candles and fresh flowers.
