Once again, I find myself trying to figure my life out all on my own. Thinking that I got this, and that it’s all up to me, no matter how overwhelming it may be. How silly. But, the good news is I am actually not alone in this – I have God to turn to. When there is something going on in your life – Give it to God. No matter how big or small.
A few months ago I left my first real job. Since then I had to find a new one, and let me tell you guys, job hunting is not easy! Thankfully, I was able to find part time work while looking for something full time. I was searching and searching for what felt like forever and I was getting nowhere. Sometimes I would apply to multiple places in one day and not hear back, or they would call back and it would be something I wasn’t interested in.
Like anyone, I started feeling very discouraged after all of the disappointment. My husband and I were talking about the situation one day, and he said that we should really start praying about it and leaving it in God’s hands. Instead of relying on God and trusting he would provide for us, I had been relying on myself and the power of my applications instead of God. Something I am learning first hand is how quickly you will become frustrated if you try to make things happen on your own strength rather than relying on God. So in that moment we realized what I have been doing wrong and how we needed to Give this situation to God. We began praying about finding a new job and even asked people at church to pray about it for me as well. Not too long after, I had a job offer that I ended up accepting. It’s not easy to remember, and sometimes you have to remind yourself daily. But, it’s ok to not have it all figured out on your own. Just trust God and he will take care of you.
Sweet friends, no matter what it is you need help with Give it to God. He can help you in all aspects of your life. Your bills? Give it to God. Your health? Give it to God. Your family? Give it to God. Your career? Give it to God. His plan is always better than our own. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).
