I know this is a hard time for everyone right now and with a lot of us practicing social distancing we might feel a little stir crazy. Hang in there, friends! Let’s use this time to better ourselves, help people, and strengthen our relationships with others. My heart goes out to anyone who is sick or dealing with the loss of someone. I’m going to continue to pray, practice social distancing, and do whatever I can to do my part.
I decided to put together a list fun activities you can do at home to take advantage of this time.
1.) Spring Clean
Now is the perfect time to Spring clean your home! Make a list of what needs to be done, play some music, and get to it.
2.) Get Lost in a Good Book
I’ve seen a lot of people’s new year’s resolution is to read more. So no excuses. It’s the perfect time to read books or the bible. Use this time to create a reading routine.
3.) Learn a New Skill
Use some of this extra time to learn a new skill that you have been interested in. Maybe you want to start a blog, take an online class, paint, or bake.
4.) Shop Online
A little retail therapy is good for the soul. I’ve been doing a lot of online window shopping and also purchased a few cute things from American Eagle for Spring here.
5.) Binge Watch Netflix / Hulu
I saw an Office meme that said “Person: “You can’t watch 9 years worth of TV in 2 weeks” Me: “You have no idea how high I can fly” Haha! I put together some of my favorite shows/movies from Netflix + Hulu below. P.S. you can also have a Netflix watch party!!
6.) Stay Active
There are so many great online workouts you can choose from on YouTube! It’s important to stay active and healthy right now.
7.) Practice Self Care
Some of my favorite ways to practice self care is a bubble bath, a candle, face mask, and a glass of wine! You can also try a hair mask or give yourself an at home mani/pedi.
8.) Craft / DIY Project
You know all of those DIY crafts and house projects you have saved on Pinterest? Well now you have some extra time to give them a try!
9.) Get Outside
Get some fresh air! Sit outside on your patio, porch, etc. or go on a walk. We have been going on a lot of walks around our neighborhood and it’s one of the activities keeping us sane.
10.) At Home Date Nights
There are so many fun date nights you can have at home like indoor or backyard picnics, make a fort and have a movie night, cook a fancy dinner together, learn a TikTok dance, or have a cocktail making contest!
11.) Relax
Don’t stress yourself out trying to figure out what to do, enjoy this downtime. Remember, you don’t always have to be doing something. It’s also good for you to not stress at a time like this because stress attacks your immune system.
12.) Try a New Recipe
Get creative with all that food that you (hopefully) stocked up on and try to make a new dish.
13.) Virtual Coffee Chats
Brew some coffee and get on Facetime, Snapchat, or Marco Polo and chat with your friends and family. Coffee isn’t your thing? No worries, make a cocktail and have a virtual happy hour with your bffs!
14.) Play Some Games
Game night is always a good idea. Bring out the board games, card games, and puzzles!
15.) Organize
With this extra time you can organize all of your closets, cabinets, and even your beauty collection.
Things are going to be okay. Stay home as much as you can, take care of yourself, and stay informed. We’ll get through this together.
I’d also love for you to contribute to this list – leave your ideas in a comment below.
