It’s been one year since my lovely husband asked me to marry him! I can’t believe how fast time flies. I just wanted to share our proposal with you because it was so amazing, and definitely noteworthy! 😉
On January 24th 2015 we had fresh snow from the night before, and Mike came over so we could enjoy it. After one large snowman and a few snowball fights, he suggested we take some nice pictures in the snow, so he went home to change and I went in to get ready.
About an hour later he came back to pick me up. Once I got in the car he told me he had a surprise for me and that he had to blindfold me for it. I pretty much had a feeling at this point this was happening, but wasn’t completely sure. I was so excited. When we arrived to the surprise destination and I remained blindfolded. He took my hand and walked me to where he had the most beautiful set up ever waiting!
He proposed to me in a tree house at a park that we visit often and I love. There were 100 tea light candles (battery operated of course), red rose petals, hanging lanterns, and a lot of love. It was all so perfect! I was so amazed when he finally took the blindfold off. He read verses from the bible about love and marriage, told me how much he loves me, and then he got down on one knee and popped the question!
I am so grateful to have a man who put so much time, thought, and effort into making this so incredibly special for me. He even had his cousin as a secret photographer. I couldn’t even imagine it being anymore perfect. Did I mention, he picked out the most gorgeous engagement ring, too!! After I said yes he took me out to one of my favorite restaurants to celebrate. It was definitely a night I’ll always remember.
