It’s no secret that my husband and I love to travel and experience new places. Sometimes with our busy work schedules it’s hard to get away for long periods of time, so more often than not we opt for short weekend trips. But, they are always so much fun and refreshing for the soul! Check out our list of the top 4 recommendations that are perfect for weekend getaways in the Northeast states.
Baltimore, MD
Baltimore is quirky, charming and overflowing with unique festivities. There’s so much to do here like explore the harbor, find your inner hipster in Hampden, grab a bite to eat at Fells Point, or go on a sunset sail cruise! According to the experts the best time to visit is between April and June. We went in late Spring and it was a perfect. You can read all about our fun trip to Baltimore here.
Camden, ME
It’s so hard to pick a favorite weekend getaway, but if I had to I think it would be Camden. Picture a cute coastal town straight out of a Nicholas Sparks book and that’s Camden. There are fun light houses to see, a beautiful downtown area full of ships and delicious restaurants, and some of the best views! The best time to visit is either in the Summer or Fall (some of the most beautiful foliage). See my full recap of our unforgettable time in Camden here.
Seneca Lake, NY
Seneca Lake is one of the 11 lakes that make up the Finger Lakes in New York aka Wine County. There’s a lot to do here like explore hundreds of different wineries/breweries and adventure through state parks. The best time to visit is between May and September. We went for my 25th Birthday last year and you can read more about our visit and what wineries were our favorites here. We can’t wait to go back and hope to go in the Fall this time!
Mystic, CT
If you like fresh seafood, beautiful views, and a fresh sea breeze then Mystic is a place you need to visit! Itโs a quaint, historic town on the coast of Connecticut. The best time to visit is between May and October when the clam shacks and ice cream parlors are in full swing, but people like to visit year round.
